**********
Terrence Stanley Fox, born July 28 1958, was a determined little boy who refuses to give up, and will never miss a day of school. Terry later grew into an athletic teenager whose goal is to be a physical education teacher.

But Terry’s life had hit a corner in March 1977, when he was diagnosed with osteogenic sacroma (bone cancer). While his family wept over the devastating news, Terry commented “I am not ready to leave this world”. As a result of the cancerous tumor developing, Terry was forced to had his right leg amputated 6 inches above the knee. After the amputation, Terry had learnt to walk with an artificial leg, and has thus continue pursuing his dreams in sports.

Terry was inspired by an article he read the night prior to his surgery. It featured amputee Dick Traum, who ran the New York City Marathon. Thus during fall 1979, Terry hatched a plan to raise money for cancer research by running across Canada. He called this “Marathon of Hope”. His goal: $1 for every Canadian. The Canadian Cancer Society had agreed to assist him, provided he corporate sponsors. Thus he sent out letters describing his dream. And in all his letters to companies soliciting their sponsorship, his final sentence was “I am not saying that this will initiate any kind of definitive answer or cure to cancer, but I believe in miracles. I have to.”

The whole history proceed to the eventual date of April 12 1980, when Terry began his Marathon of Hope in St. John’s, Newfoundland. His goal is to run 26 miles (42 km) a day. It was a journey that Canadians will never forget…

However, on September 1st (after 143 days and 5376 km), Terry was forced to stop outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario, as cancer had invaded his lungs. He held a news conference, and announced that he had to go home. He ran, altogether, 5376 km.

“How many people do something they really believe in?” said Terry Fox at the news conference. “I just wish people would realize that anything’s possible if you try. Dreams are made if people try.”

Terry was flown back to British Columbia for cancer treatment. However, as his condition worsen, he passed away on June 28, 1981 at age 22. That September, the first Terry Fox Run was held in Canada and around the world. More than 300,000 people participated, raising $3.5 million. Terry Fox Runs are held yearly in 60 countries now and more than 360 million have been raised for cancer research. His legacy lives on.

And this Sunday (November 4th, 2007), the Terry Fox Run is at Lake Gardens (Taman Tasik Perdana), starting at 8:30 am. Show your support for cancer research by running. All you need is (if you want to) pay RM25 for the Terry Rox Run t-shirt. If you happen to be in the area, or if, you are touched at all, show you support. Participate in the Terry Fox Run. It is just a mere 6.5 km, compared to the 5376 km that Terry had ran, years before us. Show your support. Help raise fund for cancer research. Run for a good cause.

It was weird last night… I couldn’t sleep, and I thought of you (huh??but yeah….)
It was first for me, suddenly missing you, and it sorta weird me out (yes, it does).

I missed your sacarsm (strangely enough),
I missed your company when I was still traumatized by my roommate,
I missed your muffins, and your sweetness in bringing 2 of them to my doorstep middle of a cold winter night —-> This is probably the sweetest thing you’ve done, as far as I can recall…. and the muffin’s great, too!!
I missed your boastful + egoistical self (not all WOMEN worship your “hotness”, you know)
I missed your “cool” and emotionless face when you take photos (but really, you just look like a grumpy old man….. hehehe)
I missed your weird songs that you always played when I visited you (and all the classical/ochestral music that you sent to me via msn)
I missed your complains and worries of how your crush/love for her had caused you so much pain…. and bout all the gossips and romours you’ve heard, and anything and everything relating to her
I (can’t believe this!!) actually missed your smile.
And oh, I missed MSN-ing with you….

Hmm… what else do I miss of you?? I don’t know, that’s why I said it weird me out!! But anyways… it’s just the “once a lifetime” kinda thing that I actually missed you…. LOL!!!

i get this a lot, when i’m overseas studying or even when i’m here in mud city… first impression for some (if not most) of my friends is: i’m from mud city instead of cat city. okay. when correcting their misconceptions, some of them will rebuke: no, no!! u don’t act that “ulu”…. u speak n act like a mud city brought up kind of chick…

err… is that supposed to be a compliment?? i do not associate myself with mud city, nor did i associate myself with cat city… i would love to think that i am being myself. chicks in mud city, well, they’re different (definitely) from those of cat city. there are of course Li-Anns around (LiAnns can survive anywhere!!), and there are those that are more on the skimpy side of the street. for me, i’m walking in the middle of the street….. neither LiAnns nor Skimpies. Okay. Some called me BIMBO… i’ll take that as a compliment…. at least on the appearance side…. i’m just bimbed to the core (according to some, LOL) but at least i’m smart ;) come to think about that, they always say: either you’ve got brains or looks, never both. but for me, I’VE GOT BRAINS AND LOOKS…. *proud*

but back to mud city and cat city chicks…. mud city LiAnns are a little more sophisticated than LiAnns of cat city….. they speak cantonese and would love to show off their broken and crappy Engrish. Cat city’s LiAnns speaks, majority, hokkiens and are more loud. But of course they share the same characteristics, thus they’re grouped as LiAnns. Birds of the same feather flock together….

anyways….. i think i’ve been way off track here…. hmm…. yes, being said i was like a typical mud city girl…. I OBJECT. i mean, i dun cake my face with cosmetics (yes i CARE about my skin), i am fashion forward but AM NOT A FASHION SLAVE. i do NOT change my boyfriend like i do with my clothes…. i do not smoke and party all night (see how decent i am)? and I DO NOT PRONOUNCE “V” AS “WEE”….. “Come, WeeWian (Vivian), we shall go LWee (L.V) later”

but still…. if i were to blame my muddiness, i’ll blame the uncleanliness of the city….. polluted and dirty…. but that won’t change my mind of flying back to cat city to work…. no, no way….. and oh, when asked why do i leave the comfort behind and come all the way here to work (as if 1 hour 45 mins flight is LONG), i’ve got my own reasons that i do not wish to publicise.. no hard feelings. i love mum n dad n bro n sis-in-law, definitely, but that doesn’t mean i have to be by their side 24/7, right?

anyways…… enough blogging…. for now… who knows what i might blog later?

a night out with dad was fun

but the sleep was dreadful

dad was playing beethoven’s 5th symphony, while i was lying beside eyes wide open…. traumatized

it was until 2:35 am that i decided. That’s it!

i got another room for myself.

it did burn a hole in my pocket, but at least i got to sleep for the next 3 and half hours.

and waking up in the morning, i am more like a zombie than anything else.

October 21, 2007

i just want to

SCREAM!!!!!!

and

SCREAM

and

SCREAM

first is the virus, and now even my external hard disk ain’t working…. and i can’t watch my HEROES and CSI… *very frustrated*

October 21, 2007

oh i was so overly excited to install Adobe Photoshop onto my laptop, and that’s when i discovered: MY LAPTOP WAS INFECTED WITH A BLACK DOOR TROJAN VIRUS…. haihs!! must be from last week’s downloading of crack code…. was so going to curse…. but, took 3 deep breaths, and now i’m trying to fix this problem…..

Gotta install the latest version of Antivirus… which my computer lacks……. *sighs*

anyways….. Was at Leisure Mall for dinner last week, and spotted Snips Academy having this promotional thing for fingernail art n makeup. Since there’s free manicure with 2 3D nail art, i opted for this option…..

and after a long queue, i finally got my nails done by one of their students…..

so, the verdict

my left ring finger had a flower drawn on the nail… it’s decent looking, not vulgar or anything….. so no complains after all. But moving on to my right ring finger..

it might’ve looked ok from far……. can’t really figure out the shape of the little dots yet, but if you look close enough, what i see is:

two sets of *ahem* balls….i know, it’s obscene and EXTREMELY UGLY…… got rid of the thing as soon as possible….

October 19, 2007

oh!!! it’s taking longer than usual for me to log into blogger and to arrive the creating new post page… eeccckkkssss……

but anyhow…. now that i’m here, i’ll yak away… as usual….

so… miss mok informed that she had rated my blog…. and it turns out that my blog is a PG-13. blog….. parents supervision required for readers under the age of 13….

not so “family” eh? it seemed that the blog was rated according to the presentation of “bad words”… mine, for instance, had “cock”, “crap” and “crappy” which make this blog not child-friendly… LOL… but anyways… it doesn’t matter, does it?

ok… now the randomness here…. spotted pamela anderson’s pic from a gossip website… (es i know, i’m very 8)

i mean look at her!!! she ain’t exactly young, and she’s happily having her silicon melon exposed (but i supposed she’s so used to it, being a playmate and an amatuer porn star and all)….. but the vulgarity doesnt’ reduce with the “golden triangle” between those legs…. her effort of covering the crotch area doesn’t pay off… it just makes it stand out even more, as much as her boobies… LOL..

and then, there’s Brit who did it again, showing off her va-jay-jay while getting off her Merces during her trip to Target. Is LA (or wherever she is…) that HOT that she has to forgo panties???????????????? or is it because her comeback is such a flop that she can’t even afford panties?? c’mon Brit!! there’s no wonder she never won custody over her boys…. with a mom who goes commando everywhere, there’s no doubt she might walk naked around the house…. she does need some serious help, i mean SERIOUS help…

i spotted another pic of chris crocker in pumps and a ladies outfit (a checkered dress), but did not bothered to post it up, since, my blog is already a PG-13, i don’t want to have it developed in to a NC-17…. hehehe!!!!
