rumor has it that the global climate has gone haywire, and that there is a prediction for fluffy weather here in mud city tomorrow evening.

i have read blogs as well as receiving the email myself on the freak winter storm that’s going to hit our tropical land of malaysia. to be precise, to hit the capital city of boleh land.

as much as i wish it would happen, i’m afraid it is just another baseless rumor. something that is not of substance, but perhaps more on the fantasy line. but i can, however, be proven wrong. it is true that the climate is getting all wrong and the weather had been rather extreme to the max, yet i still find it less than plausible of a snow storm.

if the email predicts for a hail storm, i would accept it without a doubt as it does happen exactly 9 years ago. snow storm? not so convincing.  but of course, that is my view point from a lay man, not from a weather specialist or some other professional. not even from God’s point of view. for all you know, Jesus decides to give us malaysian a taste of canadian winter, and hence the strong and freezing wind that turns all rain into snow :D

that’ll be amazing and interesting. but i, however, am keeping my eyes open tomorrow. just in case it does snow, then we can build snow man here in mud city and save the hassle on going up to genting’s snow world :) and when it does snow, it’s like a major miracle gift that the Lord is giving us all. cool, eh?

back

September 6, 2009

as much as i love traveling, i hate plane rides. don’t ask me why.

anyways… am back in my den at mud city. the heat is torturous, and i’m pretty much a typing zombie now and will need to get my sleep while the washer is working up a storm.

more updates later when i’m awake.

high flyer

June 21, 2009

a 4-day getaway consisted a total of 4 flights.

up in the air in 5 hours, and i’ll be rolling in mud city again.

can’t wait?? well, having kind of a mixed feelings here ;)

but, home’s been fruitful and  delightful, though :)

away and back

December 12, 2008

2 nights of charitable spirit, 2 nights of giving back to mother nature. i’m very much sure that the mozzies of Gracehill Lodge are preparing their medal of honor for their most generous food donor – me.

yes. obstinate is an understatement to describe me. but i just don’t have a pair of track pants and i brought along the most comfortable pair of shorts and t-shirt, which both happened to be in dark colors, oh and not to mention my black jacket too…. but it’s all these mozzie bites and insect infested place that livens up your memories. like i had fun counting the amount of mosquitoe bites per leg, and laugh it off.

but seriously, the mozzie attacked mercilessly. now, i’ll have to cover the fair legs of mine with jeans until the red dots subsided.

but overall, kudos to those who worked their ass off for this camp. great fun we had, and i have never felt so relaxed before (well, there are moments of crankiness, but it’s ok…. we all go through it). it really is a vacation away from the dreaded city life and away from the stressful workplace. ah!!!!!!! peace and serenity for once.

and now that i’m back to mud city, i’m not exactly sure if i’m ready to face the amount of work lined up for me… but i shall brave it. december’s coming to an end. in fact 2008 is coming to an end. and i can’t wait till christmas!!

happy bunny

November 19, 2008

was out walking with my mom last night at none other than the hot spot: sungai wang… and as i was browsing through this store that sells RM10 t-shirt, something rather nostalgic caught my eyes!!!! HAPPY BUNNY!!!!!!!!!

oh well, it’s not an original happy bunny t-shirt, rather a imitation with a less than perfect happy bunny printed on the not so good quality t-shirt. well, it’s RM10, so guess what? i bought it.  and for those who are still in canada, or even u who are in the UK found any of the happy bunny t-shirts (i know i find lots of them in wal-mart), please help me buy one or two?? they’re so evil and mean that i cannot resist it lor… ok.. so the t-shirt that i bought writes “cute but psycho” on it….

and there are many more… for instance:

happybunny1happybunny2happybunny3

cute right??? maybe i’ll start hunting this cheeky bunny in mud city, then maybe i’ll be as psychedelic as the bunny is..

white water rafting

October 3, 2008

the experience: exhilarating.
seriously, driving all the way to Kampar (and then to Ipoh) and back to K.L after rafting is exhausting. i was completely konked out last night.. and felt as if i was body rafting in the river.

great adventure to begin with, i got my RM150 back by falling into the river twice at 2 of the drops with rapids. my gosh. i felt like i had died and came back to life. scary. and when all of us were asked to practice our body rafting (you know kinda like swimming in a current — scary!!), honestly, i freaked out and my legs turned jelly. but hey! a girl’s gotta to do what a girl’s gotta do!

so with the adrenaline pumping, and few minor scratches and bruises along the way, i’m back in one piece! thank God i’m able to drive back, and thanks to PB for being there with me during the journey back!

great experience comes with armpits pain. yes.. my muscles were sore, especially my underarms. but hey! i’m happy!! you know, breakthrough after breakthrough! what’s not to love about life?

p/s: i know what you guys will say: WE WANT PICUTRES!! sad to say, i’ve got no waterproof camera. so, once i get the pictures i’ll post them up here or on facebook. i’ll let you know when i have it, k? i promise.

and i actually had it in mind like a second ago!! and now it’s gone!!!

old age’s catching up. or is it the caffeine that i’ve been ingesting that ages me?? could be. but i’m on a mission here! i’ve got to shed those pounds and look that great. time line is 4 months. will i make it?? 4 months to shed at least 10 pounds. and look great. we’ll see.

now, i’m committed to tone my arms, so bye bye flabby arms and hello toned arms. wait. i’ve gotta get those dumbells first (and let’s not hope that the dumbells will be just another doorstoppers in the future).

and i’m also committed to detoxifying my body. and also drink lots of water (like really lots of water). and also committed to kick that stupid allergy out!!! ish!!! i can’t have sausage lips for the rest of my life.

oh wait, see, even when i forgot what i have to blog, i mange to come up with some crap here. bullshitting ain’t that difficult, right?

by the way, i’ll try to be nicer when i blog mean bout stuffs that sent me through the roof fuming with rage. i mean i’ve got somewhat higher standards than super slobs, but hey, i’ve gotta to be gracious, no? not to mention that the night i got back from cat city to that dreaded condominium, the first sight that welcomed me was LOTS of mysterious stains at the doorway, and i took an educated guess that it’s coming from the trash, and another educated guess that nobody’s cleaning the friggin trash bin even though it’s crying for attention. and then another unsightly welcome was the stains that magically appear around the kitchen area, and it’s rather easy to know that somebody wet the floor and stepped on the wet area with dirty feet on, and did not wipe the stain off eventhough there were some rags provided. oh well. i’d better stop here before i rant again.

anyways, there’ll be just 2 days of public and much needed holidays next week!! yay!! and a much needed getaway. yay again!!

and now work.. boo!!

bimbo no more

August 25, 2008

not that i’m that full swing of a bimbo either, but hey!! i’ve managed to overcome another hurdle and shake myself off being the blond amongst the asians.

how did i manage to reform myself?? oh well, none other than joining a mission trip to the orang asli’s kampungs… yeap….. you hear me right. i actually went on a mission trip the the kampungs of the orang asli deep in some mountains in Gopeng, Perak… well, since the trip was only a one day one night trip, i figure i might as well join the gung-ho group….

it’s my first mission trip, so i gear myself with all the necessities, except getting a backpack since i thought i might not go for a second trip (which is wrong… i MIGHT go again this coming october, if they organize it again).. but i got myself a sleeping bag, torch light, and some other stuffs that you think you might need for a hiking trip, minus the tent.

yeah.. so we drove up to Gopeng, a 2 and half hours drive, and had lunch there…. then went to kampung no. 1, which is Pos Slim… well… this kampung was a little more exposed to the circular world, cos when we are doing some community work (such as hair cutting), some of them requested for a hair dye, and also a slope cut…. and kept asking for gifts… but sadly what they need more is medical needs and also personal hygiene.. since of the ladies that we cut her hair for has lices.. and the thought of it makes my hair itch… yikes… and also, of course they need education as well… but they are so different… they know missionaries coming in will offer them gifts, and they, although being in an outskirt kampung, were rather materialistic as well…

the children will fight for the gifts, and ask more of it even though they had had it… and they will really force you into giving them things…. scary.. and once they got what they want, they disappeared just like that, and did not even send you off… wow…

and after spending an hour and a half in the first kampung, we trekked into the 2nd kampung. the 2nd kampung was further into the mountains… it’s by the sungai itek, which is famous for white water rafting (will go there to raft!!!!)…. so anyways… before reaching the kampung, we have to trek on foot for approximately45 minutes to enter their kampung. this is where you have to discard your bimbotic nature… you’ll have to trek in on foot on muddy treks… and when it rains, you can imagine your feet soaked in natural mud mask… all clay and mud… and this time we’re lucky that there aren’t any leeches… else…. ewww…. and yucks… and yikes!!!

so the trekking wasn’t that hard, just tiring…. but we do get our rewards!!! we got to eat durians on the way as the jungle was full of durian trees… not D24 or whatever species, but mountain durains… all wild and natural, no preservatives added, and of course, no chemicals!!! organic durians!!!! and they’re yummy (had them for breakfast the next day too)

so we trekked in… upon arrival, we had to change and shower, and we were given two options: one is the proper bathroom at the back of the church, and the other one, the kampung way… SUNGAI ITEK!!! of course i chose the sungai itek… that’s why i borrowed the sarong from alicia.. and the river water was so refreshing….. and the current was strong too…. so this was a great experience.. i get to change in public within a sarong (you know, you strip before hitting the water?? yeah.. we girls do that in public with the aide of a sarong…. it requires skills….. man…) and shower in the river with our sarongs on…. but we’re still city girls, come on… we need our Dove shampoos, conditioners, our Palmolive body wash… LOL…. this is like vacationing rather than misstion trip… the river was the highlight of the whole trip.. oh not to mention the durians too..

well, this 2nd kampung, Kampung Ulu Kampar, is friendlier… the children are gentle and meek and friendly… all smiles and cutesy and all… they have a heart of worship. despite heavy rain at night, and not having umbrellas, and non lighted pathways to the little church building, the elderlies together with the younger generation walked up to the church in rain, holding torch lights…. that, truly touched my heart as they have the heart to lift up our God’s name…. wow… such worshipping spirit…

so the night ended, and we have to be within the church premise by 11pm, as the generator will go off around that night… the floor was cold, it was cemented, and all windows shut tight, as there will be pythons and bears in the jungle…. pythons will find their way in if the doors weren’t closed tight… that totally freak us out…. so everyone stayed within the building, held our pee pee cause no one dared to go out to pee, you know, we wouldnt want to risk ourselves feeding the pythons and bears… but during mid night, the dogs were howling non stop though…*shudders*

anyways, we woke up the next morning, had durians for breakfast ~ yumilicous~ and had a little of sharing time, and then trek down and head back to Gopeng for lunch… by lunch time all of us were hungry ghosts, walloping all food…. and then we drove back to mud city…

by the time i reached home was already evening and raining… body was all sore due to luggage carrying (i shan’t bring that much clothes next time), and was exhausted.. but i had a great time though…. and of course i missed the olympics closing… and opted for my sleep marathon instead.

well, after this mission trip, i shan’t say myself as spoiled anymore… (so don’t call me a spoil brat now… you know who you are).. will i go for another mission trip?? well… probably…. i…. will!!

oh, by the way, photos up next time, once i got them all from others… i did not bring my camera with me, thus no pics from my side..

God of This City

August 4, 2008

originally written and preformed by Bluetree of the Belfast city…. adapted by Chris Tomlin when he heard it…

it was, undoubtedly, a great song, and a great intercession prayer for this nation, for this city.

i first heard this song last night, at the Passion World Tour, and this song was impressed deeply in my heart… i have not openly and explicitly share my personal belief and encounter with Christ on my blog before (not sure why i didn’t do that, maybe cause i don’t want to have a “religious” blog), but undoubtedly majority of my readers (my friends) knew that i’m a Christian.

maybe this time, we, as children of God, should really step up to our positions and start interceding for our country, for our nations… maybe it does not seem at all necessary, we’re not in a war zone, we’re not facing famine and scarcity of clean drinking water. but aren’t political instability a force threatening our existence as well? true, we do not have a full swing bazooka bearing political crisis where the people are forced to evacuate. but do we want to see that day happening in this country?

personally, i’m not one who trails the news and know all the big hoo-haas that’s been going around this nation. but i do feel the imprinted need to share that whether or not we are politicaly active, or whether or not we care much about the political situations in one’s country. but maybe, as good citizens, praying for this nation, for this country is the least we can do.

and a little recap of Passion World Tour 08 that was held last night at Sunway Convention Centre, with a little more than 4000 university students and young adults attending, it was one huge concert and celebration. with appearances of big shots like Chris Tomlin and Louie Giglio, this tour was a sure success… mud city is the 7th stop for this 17 cities stop tour. the previous city before mud city is none other than manila, and the next will be jakarta.

what is significant about this Passion World Tour (PWT for short) is that the opening was awesome!! keyboardist (from Chris’s band) was really really greater than great…

what really touched my heart was Louie sharing the journal of Ashley Akinns (update: to read Ashley’s email to Louie, click here!), who led a totally chaotic life and how she had changed after her accepting Christ. it was a mere short 3 months long that she led her new life before she lost her life in a car accident. it was touching, hearing her story… as she wrote everything that she had experienced in details… that was totally mind blowing!

what was great bout this concert was that they actually had us pray in groups of 3s to praise His name and to welcome His presence in our midst… that was the first for me to attend a concert and have you pray. and what was even greater, is that they pledge for us to pray for the next stop – Jakarta, to have us intercede for the city for at least until Tuesday (that’s when they’re having their PWT at Jakarta). it was a whole different experience for me, and an extraordinary one.

so, to end this post, i shall post up the video for the song that moves my heart: God of This City, as a prayer for this nation. if you’d like to listen to the original writer band’s, just go on to youtube and search for Bluetree, and you’ll get it. enjoy!! (you don’t need lyrics.. it’s written in the video)

enjoy!!

gosh i dreamed of giving an Oscar winner’s speech, with the long winded:” i would like to thank my mom for her support! Thanks mom!! and of course my dad, who loves me so much, and my brother and sister-in-law who believe in me, my cat, Kitty, though you moved on years ago, i still love you, my dogs, Raffle, Mercy, Hopie and also Rocky… my fans and supporters, my aunt, great aunt…….”

ok, this is nonsense… but anyways, point is (yes, there IS a point): THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WISHES!!!!!!

i have had a great birthday, not some huge party celebration that i had (in fact, have a very hefty “birthday dinner” with my sis-in-law at her colleagues wedding… hehe!! ~yum to free food), but this trip back home is simply delightful…. peace n serenity (with the occasional out of tuned piano & my crappy n deteriorating clarinet skills), great relaxation and fellowship with my family…. this is simply what any other celebrations should be about, right :)

anyways.. thank you all for the sms-es and messages you left.. all your well wishes, thank you!! thank you!!!!

and now, i’m back in mud city after the weekend getaway at cat city. back to work.. and now i’ll aim higher!!! YES!!!! have to place more candidates so that i will be able to buy my Casio Privia PX720 end of the year!!!! YES!!! YES!!! gambate kudasai neh!!!!!!
