one:

end of 2003

that was winter 2003. young and naive, with ugly highlights that cost me CAD 25 dollars from wal-mart. i remembered making a note to myself: never have them touch my hair again. but it’s alright, i suppose. once a while we have hair colors that made us look stupid, but it’s alright. we will outgrow it. or at least the hair will outgrow it by itself.

two:

summer 2004

the summer of 2004. definitely got used to living on my own and had totally forgotten all about family and my god. i enjoyed my life, loved the freedom that i was given. i was happier. perhaps the happiest time of my life ever. carefree and alive, but dead spiritually. however, it was a blessing to have had that fun life. and hence the weighing scale begins to shift to the right.

three:

november 2005

2005. my third year in university. workload wasn’t as heavy yet weren’t light either. every now and then the girls and i (well and some of the guys) will hit the club just to stand at the dance floor or, for me, sit by the side and sipping my whiskey sour. not at all my favorite drink but strangely it’s what i order every time i went clubbing.

four:

fall 2006

i’ve got tonnes of photos to choose from that could pretty much represent my eventful year in 2006. i ended up choosing this one. i guess it weighs a certain percentage of importance, this trip to niagara falls. it was the beginning of the end of a 3 year relationship, and it was the beginning of living the single’s life. i’ve never regretted any bit. i think everything happens for a reason, and the reason has to be good. and it is better than good.

five:

november 2007

2007 wasn’t the best of years for me. but lets not go down the bitter path. of course looking at the bright side, i’ve gained new acquaintances, and i’ve gained loyal companions. it definitely marked a milestone in my life. having to relocate back to malaysia was enough of a culture shock to me, and then the nasty emotional turmoil that i went through had myself losing much weight (which i eventually gained back and more). but in the end, i’ve learnt that to gain (or grow) sacrifices is inevitable. giving up my isaac is difficult but yet necessary to move on in life.

six:

christmas 2008

christmas 2008. definitely not a white christmas. i supposed i’ve gained much weight since 2003 (looking at the very much rounder face), but i am definitely happy. perhaps at the point the photo was taken i was very stagnant career wise, but emotionally a happier person than 2007. a year of breakthrough, a year of enlargement. a better year than 2007.

seven:

Christmas 2009

this photo was taken 2 days ago, during the celebration of Jesus’ 2000 plus birthday. 2009, in short, is a good year. i’ve grown much, learned much. and as compared to the college girl back in 2003, i’ve matured into a young lady who’s got a mind of her own, ambitious, and definitely wanting to strife for the better in life. and as i’ve gained much in wisdom, i suppose the extra pounds come along with it, too. i know, i’m so much heavier than i was back in 2003. well, seven years, a few pounds heavier isn’t that bad i suppose.

but all in all, seven years had gone. seven. the perfect number seven. i’ve learned much, really, and have seen much. gained much exposures, tasted the different pains and gains in life. understanding more in fulfilling my calling. learning more to follow the narrow path and not fall out. learning to pick myself up after falling short. it has been much learning and growing, and i do not foresee that to stop.

life is a continuous journey of learning. and when learning stops, so does life. and reflecting upon the seven years spent, it was evident that it had been seven years since i spent christmas with the people that matter most.

and i’ve made a decision. on the eighth year, i am going home for christmas.

i woke up late in the morning, feeling very lazy, as i lazed on my bed for a long while before deciding to pick myself up and splash my sleepy face with some cold water. i was supposed to be at the love cheras clinic and visitation to help out, but in the end due to much procrastination,  by the time i started my car engine, it’s 40 minutes into the agenda.

and as i still feel lethargic and tired, i decided to not go despite myself being dressed for the event, and just head towards the courier service’s pick up center to run some errands. and that, was prior to hopping into a friend’s car and heading for some heavy luncheon.

so by the time i got home, it was slightly after 2 pm. i was still so tired, so i decided to jump on the bed and snugged in. it was raining outside, and the room was cool. my fan had decided to run, so i had it on at number 2. with the fan blowing and the world outside raining, it induced a very lazy feeling.  i slept for 3 hours and 30 minutes and still reluctant to wake up. until dad called and asked what time will i leave home.

so here i am, still dressed in my jammies, typing and blogging away, when i really should get my butt of the pull out bed and my eyes of the laptop screen and my fingers away from the keyboard, and push my whole self to the bathroom and drench myself in some warm water and began showering.

gotta meet up with dad tonight, and it’s at the oddest place ever. i’m supposed to be his camera girl, and i really gotta get moving now.

as this year is coming to an end, and the new year’s approaching at the speed of light (okay, maybe not that fast, but still fast nonetheless), i spent 5 minutes in thoughts and come up with my 2010 resolution.

no, i didn’t even pray hard for it. it’s just straight forward and i think it makes a lot of sense, and i hope it’ll knock some senses into me, too.

okay. my 2010 resolution consists of only two items:

1. to control my expenditure. in other words, be wise with my finances. i’ll work hard into kicking my shopping habits and, errr, control my spending. practical, right?

2. to tithe consistently. till now, i have not tithe consistently (God please don’t strike me with lighting). so, for my next year’s resolution (and every year hence forth), i’ll strive to tithe consistently with discipline.

okay. now i’ve stated it, my new year’s resolution. so, what’s yours?

when the lion mates with the mermaid, you undoubtedly get a merlion…. and i’m supposed to be there, stomping the grounds of the land of the merlion….

too bad i’m still rolling in mud here at mud city. it just doesn’t cut it. it’s supposed to be my christmas break, and i’m supposed to be shopping my heads off at their holidays sales…. and here i am, stuck in mud and running low on dough…..

it sucks to be poor… and with lots of work… and no leave to clear…. oh well, next year will be better.

i’ll aim for the mid-year sale then.. so june 2010  (ample time to save up), singapore, here i come. i pwormise.

A Christmas Carol

finally got to watch disney’s “a christmas carol” last night. and i love it. it’s heart warming, funny (at parts), and tear bringing at other parts. it sort of get you thinking, it does.

i got the warm, fuzzy feeling of christmas after i got out of the cinema. and yes, i am feeling the christmas mood now.  ah.. i love christmas shows.

decided to change my blog into a new skin.

still at the “getting use” stage of it, hence i might get fickled and change it all over again. but so far, i’m liking the simplicity of the layout.

but what say you? do you likey?

and of course i don’t plan to sue my employer. i love my job, just that i am physically tired. that’s all.

i’ll do something a little out of the box, or somewhat unusual of my character here.
